GlitterBeam
GlitterBeam is a non-profit, multi-regional digital radio station based in Chatham, Kent, that is dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community, though its pop and anthem-heavy programming is designed for everyone. Founded in July 2019 by Eugenio Ceriello and Michael Walton-Dalzell, it broadcasts across the UK on DAB (in areas such as Kent, York, and Rotherham) and in Malta, while also offering live streaming via its app and online.
The station operates with a "Music With Sparkle" format, skipping the standard mainstream playlist in favour of big anthems alongside a diverse range of talk shows that cover quirky, interactive, and LGBTQ+ specific topics rarely found in mainstream media.
Operated primarily by a team of volunteers, GlitterBeam serves as a community hub that helps train and guide aspiring radio presenters by teaching them broadcasting laws, editing, and presenting skills.
